Intrinsically Safe Barrier Relays protect hazardous location circuits and control loads without additional relays or contactors. Intrinsically Safe circuits operate at low energy levels that cannot ignite potentially explosives atmospheres. In the event of a fault condition, these Intrinsically Safe Barrier Relays prevent excess voltage and current from reaching the hazardous area.

Macromatic's Intrinsically Safe Barrier Relays are approved for use in these Hazardous Locations:
Class I, Div 1; Zones 0 and 1; Zones 20 and 21

ISD Series Barrier Relays control up to four loads. Models are available to apply time delay and logic selection independently to each channel. These relays mount on 35 mm DIN-rail or can be panel mounted.

ISP Series Barrier Relays, with an 8-pin configuration with included socket, mount on 35 mm DIN-rail or can be panel mounted. Note that the ISP Series is not approved for use in hazardous zones in Canada.
