MICA Principle Engineers have 25 years of experience in the Engineering of Safety Instrumented Systems.

MICA's scope includes providing complete lifecycle services from the initial conceptual design through HAZOP, Safety Requirements Specifications, Functional Design Specifications, SIL Verifications, ending with Safety System Implementation.

In addition to grassroots projects, MICA also provides validation of safety requirements on legacy systems, resulting in determination of proof test intervals to meet the safety requirements identified by the project team.

MICA follows the IEC 61511 and 61508 international standards for implementation of the process safety lifecycle.

MICA also provides implementation of new safety systems and modifications of legacy systems, including

  • communications network,
  • controller and I/O system architecture,
  • control strategy development,
  • system implementation including; control narratives cause and effects matrix development, QA, testing and commissioning.
